He appeared in the census in 1891 with wife Ellen 58, George W 20 Farmers son, Joseph 18 farmers son, Harriett Shaw visitor 25, Mary Allington visitor 23 and general servant Martha Selby 18yrs. He appeared in the census in 1901 is at Gull Drove, a farmer aged 72, Ellen 67, son John Henry a farmer aged 25, Martha Louisa 29 daughter in law also Granddaughter Ellen Susannah.
